According La Nazione, Leeds United’s proposal to sign Erick Pulgar is ‘interesting’ as Fiorentina look to potential replacements.
It’s claimed that Pulgar’s time with Fiorentina is now ‘winding down’, and he possibility of a move to Leeds looks to be a fascinating proposition.
In fact, Fiorentina have started to look at other midfielders in case Pulgar does go to Leeds, with a Premier League option in mind.
Boss Cesare Prandelli is thought to be pursuing a deal for Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, viewing the Uruguayan as the ideal successor to Pulgar.
Torreira is on loan from Arsenal at Atletico Madrid, meaning that deal would have to be terminated in order to facilitate a move to Florence.
Still, that Prandelli and Fiorentina are already looking at potential replacements suggests that Leeds have a great chance of securing Pulgar’s signature if they do make a move this month.

Pulgar, 26, primarily plays as a holding midfielder, but did find the net seven times for Fiorentina last season, showing that he can contribute going forward as well as protecting his back four.
Marcelo Bielsa may be familiar with Pulgar given his knowledge of Chilean football, and he may see Pulgar as a player who can offer competition for both Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich in midfield.
