Leeds United’s Paudie O’Connor is reportedly set to join the League Two outfit.
Football League World has claimed that Leeds United’s Paudie O’Connor will re-sign for Bradford City today.
The Irish centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan with Gary Bowyer’s side but couldn’t prevent them from being relegated into League Two.
O’Connor also has League One clubs interested but, according to Football League World, the 21-year-old is set to snub them to sign for Bradford again.
The report adds that it’ll be a loan and it could be completed today.
Big step down for O’Connor?
The Leeds defender should be well above League Two quality and you wonder why he is snubbing interest from League One clubs, if the report is true.
O’Connor has senior appearances for the Elland Road club under his belt – four, to be specific – after making his debut under Paul Heckingbottom toward the end of the 2017-18 season.
Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t appear to rate him all that highly, but a full season in League Two probably won’t do much for his development.
If the goal is to make it in West Yorkshire, he needs to be the best centre-back he can possibly be and a year in the fourth tier might not do much for him in that regard.
