Leeds United are said to have moved on from the Norwich City man.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United did consider a summer swoop for Norwich City forward Nelson Oliveira but have decided not to bid for the 26-year-old, instead focusing their attention elsewhere.
Leeds are in need of additional fire-power after selling Chris Wood to Burnley, especially when you consider the New Zealand international chipped in with 30 goals last season.
New additions Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot have impressed in their early outings, but Leeds need more experience up front as they bid to mount a prolonged and ultimately successful promotion push.
Oliveira has scored 15 goals in 35 appearances for Norwich and he has started this campaign in fine form, finding the net three times in just five league outings.
Still, that was seemingly not enough to convince Leeds to make their move and they have instead turned their attention to two less familiar strikers in the form of Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Pawel Cibicki.
Either player would be a risk, while Oliveira could have been the addition to help spearhead Leeds assault on the Championship table.
He may have only played a bit-part for Norwich this season, starting on the bench three times already, but his ability in front of goal is not in question and one wonders exactly why Leeds opted to move on, unless they have a late ace up their sleeve.
