The German forward moved on loan to Leeds United from Hamburg this summer.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United have secured even more of a bargain than first thought regarding Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
The 25-year-old earned a huge £50,000 a week at Hamburg, and the YEP claims his parent club have agreed to pay around 75 per cent of that in order to push the deal through this summer.

Lasogga earns far more than any other player on Leeds’ books and as a consequence the only way the Whites were going to get a deal over the line was to convince Hamburg to pick up the shortfall.
That is something they were seemingly happy to do, perhaps knowing that if Lasogga hits the ground running at Leeds he will attract plenty of suitors who could ultimately take the striker off their hands in a permanent deal.
Even if Leeds earn promotion back to the top flight this season, the prospect of them shattering their wage structure is nigh on impossible, and as a result it would be no surprise if this is Lasogga’s one and only year at Elland Road.

Even so, he will be gearing up for a huge campaign, and while he struggled for goals last season there is no doubting his quality when he plays week in, week out.
Leeds moved quickly to replace Chris Wood and Lasogga is the pick of an impressive bunch.
Only time will tell if he justifies his wage packet, but that is not something Leeds need to worry about given Hamburg’s generous agreement. With Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez supply the chances and Jay-Roy Grot, Kemar Roofe and Pawel Cibicki offering competition for places, whoever is paying Lasogga to play, expect him to shine.
