Leeds United have made a loan bid for David Stockdale that involves a potential permanent move for next summer.

The Whites endured a nightmare run with goalkeepers last season, so it is little surprise that the club have a new stopper on their radar. Felix Wiedwald has already left after a poor year at Elland Road, and the Yorkshire Evening Post is now suggesting that Andy Lonergan is looking set to follow him out of the door.

Birmingham City goalkeeper Stockdale is one of the players that Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly keen to add to his ranks, and the Yorkshire Evening Post suggests that Leeds are pushing the Blues for a response to their bid.

With the Yorkshire Evening Post suggesting that Stockdale has been told that he is not in Garry Monk’s plans next season, it would appear that Birmingham will have few qualms about letting him join a Championship rival – whether they are keen however, to let him leave on loan rather than permanently remains to be seen.
And perhaps some Leeds supporters may be concerned that the club want a goalkeeper who is being discarded by a team who finished below them in the table last year, and the nature of the Whites’ bid just provides the slightest hint that they are also not entirely sure regarding how successful a move could prove.
