According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, Leeds United are interested in Wolves forward Hwang Hee-Chan.

The South Korean has only just completed his permanent move to Wolves, officially joining the club on July 1st, but now, Leeds are keen to bring him to Elland Road.

It’s really not all that surprising to see Leeds linked with Hwang. After all, this is a player Jesse Marsch knows very well.

Indeed, the Wolves ace worked with Marsch during his time at RB Salzburg, and after signing the likes of Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams this summer, it’s clear that Leeds are keen to recruit players Marsch already has a pre-existing relationship with.

Hwang was a hit under Marsch. He netted double figures in the league back in 2019/20 as Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga, and he was also a star in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old famously put in a brilliant performance against Liverpool back in 2019, and he even managed to get the better of Virgil van Dijk.

The attacker got in behind the Liverpool defence, and while van Dijk was making a recovery run, Hwang cut back onto his right foot, leaving the Dutchman on the ground before firing the ball into the far corner.

Hwang hasn’t been in the best goalscoring form as of late, but, let’s be honest, nobody in this Wolves team has been scoring consistently over the past 12 months, so his struggles in front of goal may not be down to personal poor performance.

It surely wouldn’t take the attacker long to settle in at Leeds. After all, plenty of his former teammates are already at the club and he’s already got a season’s worth of Premier League football under his belt.

This could be a very useful addition to the Leeds squad, especially if Daniel James makes his rumoured move to Tottenham.
