Maitland-Niles’ future at the Emirates Stadium is very uncertain right now, with Arsenal potentially tempted to cash in on him in the summer.
Leeds are said to be one of a number of clubs watching developments, as they weigh up a move.
The 23-year-old could be an attractive option for the Whites too.
Maitland-Niles possesses good energy and should fit into Leeds’ system well.
He prefers to play in central midfield, but his ability to play in either full-back slot will surely also appeal to Marcelo Bielsa.
Maitland-Niles has previously been hailed as ‘absolutely brilliant’ by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Sky), and his recent performances at West Brom have certainly been impressive.
The Arsenal midfielder has gone on loan to the Baggies and improved their performances markedly.
The hope for Leeds if they signed him, is that he could have a similar impact at Elland Road.
And his potential partnership with Kalvin Phillips in the middle certainly looks like one which could be appealing to Whites supporters.
