Leeds United are said to be keen on signing Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta, the Telegraph report.
Leeds are determined to strengthen in midfield, and have identified Rodrigo De Paul as their top target.
However, getting hold of De Paul is proving very difficult and Malinovskyi could represent a much cheaper alternative.
It is claimed that the 27-year-old would cost £20 million, which may just make him a more appealing target than De Paul was at a far greater price tag.
Malinovskyi may not be quite as an exciting target as De Paul, but he does possess a great deal of quality.

The Ukranian has shown a happy knack of scoring from midfield, and he chipped in with nine goals for Atalanta last season.
Malinovskyi also hit 16 goals for Gent in Belgium back in the 2018/19 campaign, so he would really add to Leeds goal threat if he was to join.
Malinovskyi is blessed with having some of the best free-kick taking skills across Europe, and his deliver from set piece situation could also benefit Marcelo Bielsa’s side over the course of the campaign.
