Leeds United have been handed a major boost with Ronaldo Vieira signing a new deal at Elland Road.
Leeds United’s Ronaldo Vieira has signed a new deal
Leeds have today confirmed on their official website that Ronaldo Vieira has committed his future to the Whites by signing a new four-year deal at Elland Road.
Vieira has quickly established himself as a vital player for the Championship side since making his debut on the final day of the 2015/16 season, making 34 league appearances during this past campaign to help Leeds come within touching distance of securing a play-off spot in the second tier.
Vieira has established himself as a key player this season
It would have hardly been a surprise if the 18-year-old had been attracting attention from elsewhere given his rapid emergence into the side, but Vieira has seemingly put any rumours to bed by signing a deal that is set to keep him at Elland Road until 2021 (via club’s official website).
His performances this past term saw Vieira receive a call-up to the England under-20 squad for the upcoming Toulon Tournament.
The news comes one day after Andrea Radrizzani completed his takeover of Leeds
Leeds supporters will undoubtedly be delighted to see the teenager commit his future to the club as he clearly boasts the potential to play at a higher level in future, so is likely to play a crucial role if Garry Monk’s men are to challenge for promotion again next season.
And with the news coming just one day after Andrea Radrizzani completed his full takeover of the Whites, the fans will be hoping that Vieira’s contract extension is the first of many pieces of good news to emerge from the Yorkshire club this summer.
