Mateusz Klich has left Leeds United to join Utrecht on loan for the rest of the season.

Klich only moved to Elland Road in the summer, but has endured a largely frustrating time with the Whites. He has made just one start in the Championship with a further three league appearances coming from the bench.

Heading into January, few Leeds fans would have been surprised to see the Poland international potentially leaving the club in some capacity during this window – and the likelihood of a move seemed to become inevitable when the club brought Adam Forshaw in from Middlesbrough on a long-term contract.

Utrecht find themselves sixth in the Dutch top flight currently, so Klich will be hoping to help the side secure a European qualification spot for next season while he is there.
And he will also be hoping that he can impress Christiansen while he is away, as with Yosuke Ideguchi also out on loan, he may potentially return to an even more congested battle for a spot in the midfield when his loan expires in the summer.
