Leeds United ‘are making a surprise £10 million bid’ for the Rangers winger Ryan Kent, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claims the Leeds head coach, Marcelo Bielsa, hopes to make it ‘third time lucky’ in his pursuit of Kent’s signature, having tried to sign him twice from Liverpool.
And it adds that the Whites hope to agree a fee with Rangers this week and talk the 23-year-old into signing.
It is speculated that Leeds may have to pay more than £10m for Kent, given Rangers’ stance of only wanting to sell their players for ‘big money’.
Kent is said to be settled in Glasgow, but has roots in Oldham, Greater Manchester, which is less than an hour’s drive from Leeds.
The Liverpool academy product has scored or made 29 goals in 80 games for Rangers, whom he joined for around £6.5m last summer after a successful loan spell.

He has spent much of his Ibrox career operating from a wide left position, but can also play on the right-hand side, as well as in the number 10 role, and his versatility is likely to appeal to Bielsa.
Should Kent move to Leeds, he would be among the contenders to become the eventual heir to Pablo Hernandez, the popular Spaniard who turned 35 earlier this year.
