Leeds United are looking to land Manchester City striker Charlie McNeil, according to the Daily Mail.

Leeds have just been promoted to the Premier League, and are looking to use their new top-flight status to land some of the stars of tomorrow.

Leeds have already been linked with teenaged forward Joe Gelhardt from Wigan Athletic, and it seems that 16-year-old McNeil is also on the radar.

The forward, who is described as a ‘wonderkid’ by the Mail, has been hugely prolific at youth level for City.

There are high hopes for him at the Etihad Stadium, but he wants a move after feeling that his development has been blocked.

Leeds are now eager to land him, and City are willing to sell – although they want a fee which ‘represents his ability’.

If McNeil was to move to Leeds he would likely join their under-23 side rather than their first-team.

However, Marcelo Bielsa has been keen to offer opportunities to Leeds’ most promising youngsters, and the route to the Whites’ senior squad looks easier than the one into City’s for the prospect.
