According to The Athletic, Leeds are interested in signing Queens Park Rangers defender Rob Dickie, who is also a target for West Ham.

What’s the story?

Well, Leeds and West Ham aren’t the only Premier League sides keen on signing the QPR centre-back.

The Athletic believe Southampton, Burnley and Wolves are also fans of the 25-year-old, who is enjoying a stunning campaign so far.

In addition to The Athletic, 90min also claimed that West Ham are considering a move for Dickie, with Nathan Ake in their sights as well.

The QPR No.4 has netted four goals so far this season, all of which came in his first six games of the campaign.

Interestingly, Dickie’s tendency to drive forward with the ball, coupled with his aerial prowess, led The Athletic to compare him to Harry Maguire.

For a player who’s never set foot in the Premier League, it must flatter Dickie to be likened to an £85m defender.

There are some phenomenal players in the Championship, who are destined to reach the Premier League.

David Moyes knows that all too well, as some of his best players were signed from England’s second tier such as Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma.

Dickie looks set to follow in their footsteps, so it will be interesting to see who wins this transfer battle out of Leeds and West Ham.

In our view, both sides need him as badly as each other.

Marcelo Bielsa can’t seem to rely on the injury prone Diego Llorente or Robin Koch, whereas Liam Cooper has appeared to struggle at times.

In West Ham’s case, Moyes is without Angelo Ogbonna for the rest of the season, while Kurt Zouma is also injured.

Both sides need Dickie, so make sure to keep an eye on this saga.
