Leeds United join Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday in the race for Ricky Holmes, according to a report.

According to Kent Live, Leeds United could “throw their hat in the ring” and join their Championship rivals in pursuit of Ricky Holmes.
The Charlton Athletic forward won his club’s Player of the Year award last season after netting 13 times in 31 League One starts for the Addicks.

His form has reportedly alerted a host of clubs in England’s second tier as Kent Live claimed last month that Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City were interested.
And the same publication has now claimed that Leeds have joined the race for the 29-year-old, who they claim will sit down with Charlton boss Karl Robinson this week in an effort to agree a new contract.
The report goes on to suggest that Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff aren’t the only suitors, claiming that Sheffield United – who won the Championship last term – have already submitted a bid for him.

Holmes has only been with the London club for a year, having joined from Northampton Town last July after handing in a transfer request.
He netted nine goals and set up another eight for Northampton in League Two in the 2015-16 campaign, helping them win promotion to the third tier.
Leeds do not have a manager at the moment following Garry Monk’s resignation last month.
