Leeds United appear to be confident that they will sign Adam Forshaw before their next Championship clash.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the Whites’ Championship rivals Cardiff City had met Boro’s £2.5 million valuation of the midfielder, and that had prompted Leeds to get involved in the race and enter talks with Tony Pulis’ side in the past 24 hours.
And it appears that a breakthrough may be imminent, with the Yorkshire Evening Post adding that Forshaw would prefer a move to Leeds over Cardiff and a fee between the two clubs is on the verge of being agreed.
The report adds that Leeds should soon be able to start discussing personal terms with the 26-year-old and hope to have him potentially available to feature when they host the Lions at Elland Road this Saturday. Sky Sports have suggested on their transfer blog (17th January 2018; 17:46) that he could undergo a medical on Thursday.
It may perhaps not be out of the question to suggest that reaction towards what appears to be an almost imminent deal may be mixed amongst the Leeds fans.
After four games without a win, the supporters have been urging the club to get stuck into the transfer window, but it seems to have been a striker that has been on many fans’ shopping lists. But Forshaw definitely does bring plenty of Championship experience, and Thomas Christiansen will be hoping that that boosts their promotion hopes.
