Leeds United’s offer for Josko Gvardiol is stronger than RB Leipzig’s, but any deal may take a while to complete, 24 Sata in Croatia report.

Leeds have been chasing the Dinamo Zagreb talent over the last few weeks, and seem to be determined to bring him to Elland Road.

The 18-year-old, who was described as ‘impressive’ by transfer expert Dan Altman in the Yorkshire Evening Post, may only have limited first-team experience, but Leeds seem to believe he has a hugely bright future and could offer them immediate cover in the central defensive position.

Leipzig, who always have a keen eye for talent, have now made a move to rival Leeds.

However, it is the Whites who are thought to still be ahead in the race to sign the £18 million-rated teenager (YEP).

Leeds’ offer for Gvardiol is bigger than Leipzig’s, which will surely put them in the driving seat in negotiations with Zagreb.

The Croatian side are not keen on letting Gvardiol join Leeds yet though, as they face a Champions League qualifier with Ferencvaros, which they want him to play in.

Leeds could, therefore, have to be patient as they wait to see if they have got their man.

That may be a blow to Bielsa’s side, as the Leeds boss always likes his players to receive ample time in training with the squad, before he throws them into starting contention.
