According to TyC, Marcelo Gallardo has reportedly turned down a formal approach from Leeds United.
Gallardo has decided to take a new job in the summer, rather than in the middle of the season. This is a big blow for Leeds, who are in search of a new manager after the departure of Jesse Marsch.
Leeds have really had no luck in terms of getting a new manager through the door. Andoni Iraola has reportedly turned them down in recent days, while Arne Slot has denied any contact from Leeds.
Gallardo is well known for his success at River Plate, where he won numerous titles and accolades, including the Argentine Primera Division and two Copa Libertadores trophies.
He has been widely regarded as one of the best managers in South American football and his style of play and tactics have led to plenty of interest from throughout Europe.

With Gallardo turning down the offer, the club will now have to look elsewhere for a suitable candidate.
There have been reports that the club is considering hiring an interim manager to tide them over until the end of the season, and then hire a full-time boss in the summer, and perhaps Gallardo could still come in at that juncture.
It’s clear that Gallardo is very particular about the timing of his next managerial role.
He wants to start with a clean slate, at a new club in the summer, where he can build his own team and develop his own style rather than working with what he’s given halfway through a season.
One thing is for sure, Leeds need a new manager through the door soon, because their Premier League status is currently hanging by a thread.
