According to Le10 Sport, Leeds United and Southampton have both made contact to try and sign Brest defender Romain Perraud.

Perraud actually signed a new contract with Brest, meaning he has committed his future to the club until 2025… at least in theory.

The report claims that Perraud may still go at the end of the season, with Leeds and Southampton making contact with his entourage to try and thrash out a move.

Marseille are also keen, meaning Brest engineering that new deal may simply preserve his value rather than keep him for years to come.

Perraud, 23, is an exciting attack-minded left back, smashing three goals and five assists in 20 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

The former Nice man is a huge threat going forward, possessing quality on the ball and a dangerous long-range shot, meaning he can be dangerous from anywhere.

Leeds could do with adding a natural left back, and a player with potential to develop like Perraud could make sense for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Southampton have fears over Ryan Bertrand’s future given that he can leave for nothing at the end of the season, and Perraud may be lined up as a replacement – but they will face a battle to land him.
