According to Goal, Leeds United believe that they can convince Matheus Cunha to come to Elland Road.

The Whites believe that their sporting project is impressive enough for Cunha to come to West Yorkshire as a January transfer beckons.

The attacker seems to be set for a move to the Premier League, and according to Goal, there are no fewer than four English sides keen.

Wolves have been strongly linked and are reportedly closing in on a deal, Leeds themselves have an interest, while Arsenal and Aston Villa are also keen.

When a Brazilian international comes onto the market, you’re bound to see a number of clubs circling, and that’s exactly the situation that is unfolding here.

It is interesting to hear that Leeds think their project will be alluring to Cunha, because, at the moment, it’s difficult to see what the strategy is at Elland Road.

Jesse Marsch hasn’t hit the ground running in the Premier League, and after selling their two best players in the summer, ambition isn’t necessarily the order of the day in west Yorkshire.

Compare that to a team like Arsenal who are challenging at the very highest level these days, and it’s difficult to see why Leeds think Cunha would want a move to Elland Road.

However, as we ought to know by now, Victor Orta can often have a trick up his sleeve. He is the master of persuasion and his powerpoint presentations that are used to convince certain targets are becoming the stuff of legend.

The race for Cunha’s signature is certainly heating up, and this is a situation that you mustn’t take your eyes off of heading into the January transfer window.
