According to Football.London, this weekend’s game against Leeds United will come too soon for Arsenal defender Pablo Mari.
It’s claimed that Mari is doing light ball work in training whilst doing running and strength training to prepare for his return.
Arsenal are aiming to have Mari back in action after the international break, with the Leeds clash this weekend expected to be a game too soon.
Mari, 27, suffered an ankle ligament injury against Manchester City way back in June, meaning he has now been out for five months.
The Spaniard still turn his loan move from Flamengo permanent over the summer, with Arteta seemingly a big fan of his compatriot.

His ability as a left-footed centre back should be valuable, though Gabriel Magalhaes’ summer arrival may mean that Mari is primarily cover.
With Mohamed Elneny also out against Leeds, Mari’s expected absence is a blow too, but he should be back very soon – and that’s a real positive on the horizon.
