According to El Desmarques, Leeds United fought with Real Betis right to the bitter end for winger Jese Rodriguez, but ultimately lost out.
The Whites did bring in two reinforcements in the January transfer window, landing goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and midfielder Mateusz Bogusz.
Marcelo Bielsa did want another winger, and whilst a deal for Swansea City’s Daniel James fell through, it seems that one other wide man was on the radar.

Jese, 25, allegedly close a move to Betis instead, completing his loan move two days before the January transfer window slammed shut, with Leeds battling until the last minute.
The Paris Saint-Germain ace – who cost them €25million (£22million) in 2016 (Marca) – has struggled in recent years, and is looking to get back to top form with Betis.
Having impressed with Real Madrid, scoring 18 times in 94 games as a youth graduate, Jese played just 15 times for PSG and has spent time out on loan at Las Palmas and Stoke City.
That spell in England with Stoke was a disaster, scoring once in 13 games, but his raw talent would have been a major boost to this Leeds side – and it would be little surprise to see the Whites try again when his Betis loan ends this summer.
