Leeds United are reportedly ready to battle Bristol City and Nottingham Forest for Liverpool midfielder Yan Dhanda.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Liverpool midfielder Yan Dhanda is set to make a loan move to a Championship club, with Bristol City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest all keen.
Dhanda, 18, initially started in the ranks with West Bromwich Albion having been born in Birmingham, but he joined Liverpool back in July 2013 before penning a professional deal in 2015.
Primarily a playmaker who can also play out wide, Dhanda has been touted for a bright future, and is the first player of Indian heritage to sign a professional contract with Liverpool.
Now, Liverpool want Dhanda to go out on play first-team football with a loan move elsewhere, with the Daily Mail claiming that three Championship clubs – Bristol City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest – are all interested.
Bristol City may look for more creativity in midfield having allowed Lee Tomlin to join Championship rivals Cardiff City earlier this summer, whilst Forest have already brought in one young playmaker from Merseyside having landed Kieran Dowell on loan from Everton last week, and Mark Warburton may look to sign another.
Links to Leeds are surprising though, given that manager Thomas Christian has added Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski this summer, whilst he also has the likes of Stuart Dallas, Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez at his disposal as creative forces.
It’s unclear just where Dhanda would fit into that setup at Elland Road, though he could reunite with former Liverpool youngster Madger Gomes, who joined Leeds back in June.
Liverpool will want to strike a deal which enables Dhanda to play as much football as possible, and Leeds may not be top of the list on that front, with Bristol City and Forest potentially emerging as better fits for his desired playing time.
