The Sun have claimed that Leeds United are working on a deal to land Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man Ivan Cavaleiro on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Leeds remain in the hunt for promotion from the Championship this season but have been forced to use many youngsters, due to a mounting injury list.

It has seen the likes of Jack Clarke, Jamie Shackleton and Aapo Halme impress after coming into the side from the club’s Under-23 outfit. But Marcelo Bielsa needs proven quality if Leeds are to gain promotion.

Leeds have been after a new winger this month, with talks reportedly continuing for Swansea City wide man Daniel James. The club have also been linked with Bristol City’s Callum O’Dowda (YEP).

Cavaleiro, 25, has struggled for game time at Molineux this season. He has managed just 506 minutes worth of Premier League football under Nuno Espirito Santo, and could be willing to leave the club.

The two-time Portugal international was crucial to Wolves’ promotion campaign last season, scoring nine goals and creating 13 more in assists during his 46 league and cup appearances.

It saw TeamTalk report that Huddersfield Town had bid £12million for the ex-Benfica star last summer, but a move failed to materialise. Now, the Portuguese ace could be on his way to Elland Road on loan.
