Swansea City look to have lost out to Leeds United in the race to sign the 26-year-old, according to one national newspaper.
Leeds United expect to sign Barnsley’s Andy Yiadom this summer, according to the Sun on Sunday (April 29th, page 60).
Yiadom is approaching the end of his contract at Barnsley – the club from which Leeds acquired their manager, Paul Heckingbottom, in February – allowing him to leave on a free transfer.
And a reunion between the pair appears to be on the cards, with the report claiming the Whites ‘look to have beaten Swansea City to land the 26-year-old’.
Yiadom’s arrival would surely raise questions about the futures of several Leeds players, particularly right-backs Vurnon Anita, Gaetano Berardi, Lewie Coyle and even Luke Ayling.
Although, the Ghana international has spent much of his Barnsley career on the opposite flank, which could cause concern for Laurens de Bock, Tom Pearce and Tyler Denton.
The Daily Mirror reported last December that Swansea had agreed a £2 million deal for Yiadom, but the move obviously never materialised.
