Leeds United are reportedly negotiating with Liverpool.

Marcelo Bielsa wants Leeds United to spend ‘every penny’ of the £7 million that Kemar Roofe brought in on signing Liverpool’s Ryan Kent, according to The Daily Record.

The Whites announced on Tuesday evening that the 26-year-old striker had moved to Anderlecht in Belgium.

Goal.com reported that Leeds are negotiating with the Champions League winners for Kent, who is rumoured to be costing £7 million up front.

And according to The Record, Bielsa wants the entire Roofe sum reinvested into bringing the 22-year-old winger to Elland Road.

The report adds that the Whites’ Argentine coach is ‘confident’ of a deal.

If that’s what it takes to get this over the line, Leeds’ hierarchy must agree to it.

They’re already set to miss out on Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, who is joining Bristol City, and with one day left in the transfer window, United can’t afford to penny pinch at this stage.

Bielsa has predominantly been in the loan market this summer but a permanent addition, especially one of Kent’s quality, would be superb.
