Leeds United are reportedly prepared to sell Tom Pearce as the Premier League interest intensifies.

Pearce is one of the Whites’ brightest youngsters. After a hugely impressive run in the under-23 side, the 20-year-old was handed a chance in the first-team in the latter stages of this past campaign, and he certainly proved to be the best-performing and most consistent left-back the Elland Road faithful saw all season.

It has taken little time following his emergence for his future with Leeds to become uncertain. His contract was set to expire this summer, but The Sun on Sunday reports that he has signed a new deal with the Whites in the last week. Nevertheless, Paul Heckingbottom may still lose the prospect during this window.
Interestingly, The Sun on Sunday adds that Leeds are prepared to sell for the right price, which is perhaps a intriguing surprise given how impressive he was during the final weeks of the season.

Leeds do need to strengthen their left-back options this summer – it would be little surprise if many Whites supporters were hoping that Laurens De Bock had already played his final game for the club – but Pearce is undoubtedly good enough to be right in the first-team picture next term.
And with a number of former Leeds academy graduates going on to have extremely exceptional careers elsewhere, sanctioning Pearce’s departure would undoubtedly be an unpopular move from the Whites hierarchy after he finished the campaign with such an encouraging run.
