Leeds United may well have sealed a deal for Rodrigo in just a matter of hours, Super Deporte reports.

Leeds chief Andrea Radrizzani is in Valencia negotiating for the striker, and it is thought that talks are progressing well.

The Whites have looked to get Valencia’s asking price down, but the same source claims that the transfer fee is likely to be higher than first expected.

The Spanish paper does not name a figure, but it is likely that Leeds will have broken their transfer record to seal a deal for the 29-year-old.

Rodrigo, himself, should not take much persuading to come to Elland Road.

The striker originally was said to only want a move if it represented a step up, but he has apparently changed his mind now.

Leeds may have only just been promoted but the Spanish international is said to be willing to make the switch to Elland Road, providing they meet his financial demands.

The news that Rodrigo is now on the verge of a move is highly exciting, and it seems that he could become Marcelo Bielsa’s first real marquee addition of the summer.

Rodrigo should go straight into Leeds’ starting line-up, as there is an expectation that he will be a considerable upgrade on Patrick Bamford up-front.
