According to The Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide is now wanted by ‘two big European clubs’.
It’s claimed that the two teams in question have been in contact with Wednesday to inform them of their plans to move for Urhoghide.
The 20-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave Wednesday for a bargain fee.
Wednesday will be due compensation due to Urhoghide’s age, but if he joins a non-English club, the fee received will be minimal.
Wednesday’s Yorkshire rivals Leeds United are also thought to be keen on signing Urhoghide, seemingly picking him out as a talent for the future.
Yet with two major European clubs also keen, Leeds now risk missing out on a player who currently plays just down the road at Hillsborough.
Born in the Netherlands, Urhoghide was with AFC Wimbledon before heading to Wednesday in 2018, landing a contract after a successful trial.
He has been a key man for Wednesday since Tony Pulis’s exit, but with the Owls looking set for relegation, Urhoghide could land himself a big move; still, Wednesday fans may be happy that Leeds could miss out.
