Leeds United reportedly considered a potential bid for Lewis Grabban around the time that the striker was preparing for the play-off final.

The Whites go into this summer certainly needing to strengthen their striker options. Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s loan has finished and Kemar Roofe was the only other player to reach double figures for Championship goals last term – and it could certainly be argued that he could prove just as hot and cold as the German.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that both Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez are on the club’s radar following Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment at Elland Road, but the pair are not the only two attackers the club have looked at since the campaign concluded it seems.
It must be noted that the Yorkshire Evening Post does not suggest whether Grabban remains a target or not. And with then head coach Paul Heckingbottom since being replaced by Bielsa, there is perhaps every chance that the club’s attention has possibly moved elsewhere.

Given that Bournemouth spent £8 million on Grabban in 2016 – fee reported by the Guardian – it would be little surprise if the Cherries would want a decent fee before letting him go permanently, but a loan deal could have perhaps been a smart move for Leeds to consider pursuing as he showed last year that he is capable of scoring plenty of goals at their level.
It remains to be seen if Grabban is still a player that Leeds have any interest in following Bielsa’s appointment, but it should perhaps not be a huge surprise if he is an option that comes up in conversation between the new head coach and Victor Orta as they look to bolster the club’s fire power in the coming weeks.
