Leeds United are considering signing Ben Foster after he left relegated Watford this summer, according to a report.

The 39-year-old, who is now a free-agent, recently shared that he would ‘love’ to join Arsenal as a back-up this summer, well, Elland Road could be his next destination.

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that, along with Foster being under consideration, the Yorkshire side want to add a midfielder, a left-back and an experienced goalkeeper to their ranks this summer.

There’s no doubt that Illan Meslier is Leeds’ undisputed number one, although, he did have a number of iffy moments last season, as the Whites conceded goal after goal.

In truth, it wasn’t his problem because the club’s gung-ho style, injuries and defence, were the main reasons behind why they struggled so much and just about survived relegation.

But, with Kristoffer Klaesson, another youngster, as a back-up keeper at Elland Road, and Kiko Casilla being out on-loan again last season, it’s no surprise the club are looking for a new face.

FOSTER WOULD FIT IN AT LEEDS

Leeds are looking for experience and at the age of 39, they will be getting plenty of it from Foster.

The Englishman has played at the highest level before, for Manchester United, as well as don the gloves for his country when Fabio Capello was in charge of England.

And whilst Watford were relegated to the Championship, he still played for large parts of the campaign and showcased that he still has quality in his locker.

Either way, with Leeds set to lose two of their star players – Raphinha to Arsenal and Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City – they are making sure that they bulk up their squad elsewhere because that has been an issue for them.
