Leeds United are reportedly keen on Inter Milan’s Ryan Nolan.

According to Trivenetogoal, Leeds United are interested in signing Inter Milan talent Ryan Nolan – but face competition from Brighton and Hove Albion and Triestina.

Nolan, 20, hasn’t taken a regular path into professional football. The defender was born in Limerick and grew up in Ireland, before heading over to Spain as a kid.

A move to Villarreal was set for completion as a youngster, as noted by RTE, before he instead joined Inter having impressed the club’s scouts.

Last season, Nolan captained the Inter Milan Under-19’s, a clear show of how much they rate him as a player and as a leader, whilst he racked up 42 appearances in all competitions.

Now, Triestina are seemingly keen to take Nolan on loan for first-team football, but Leeds and Brighton are looking to lure him over to English football.

That would surely be on a permanent basis, as teams in the Premier League and at the top end of the Championship may not be seeking a youngster on loan from Inter.

If Leeds can tempt Inter into selling, Nolan may well be a smart purchase for the future. Leeds have just lost Pontus Jansson, and bringing in a highly-rated prospect for the years to come would be a smart way to reinvest the cash.

Leeds already have one young defender on loan in Ben White, so adding another doesn’t really make sense. Yet with no purchase option in White’s deal, signing Nolan would be perfect for the long-term, but they’ll face a battle – ironically – with White’s parent club Brighton.
