According to The Mirror, Rangers winger Ryan Kent is back on the Leeds United radar due to an impasse in the pursuit of Rodrigo De Paul.

It’s claimed that Udinese want £35million for De Paul, but Leeds are currently only prepared to pay £22.3million for the Argentinian.

The pursuit of the 26-year-old has been going on for weeks now, and with no progress on a deal, Leeds are starting to look elsewhere.

This report claims that Leeds are back in the market for Rangers winger Ryan Kent, suggesting that they saw De Paul as more of an attacking option than a midfield one.

Leeds were strongly linked with Kent in August, and Gers boss Steven Gerrard admitted to The Scottish Sun that Leeds failed with a £10million bid.

Rangers may now face another battle to keep hold of Kent, with Leeds looking back towards the ex-Liverpool man due to their stuttering pursuit of De Paul.

De Paul played more centrally for Udinese last season, posting impressing numbers for key passes and dribbles and looks like an ideal heir to Pablo Hernandez.

Kent is quicker and more direct, playing predominantly in wide areas, so it’s interesting to see Leeds going back for him as a De Paul alternative – but maybe Marcelo Bielsa is just looking for impact players in the final third regardless of their defined role.
