Leeds United are looking to sell Caleb Ekuban in the next 48 hours.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are looking to find a new club for striker Caleb Ekuban ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The Whites have mostly focused on incomings of late, with manager Marcelo Bielsa backed with five summer signings, but moving players on is important too.

Players such as Felix Wiedwald, Andy Lonergan, Marcus Antonsson, Ronaldo Vieira, Luke Murphy and Hadi Sacko have been moved on this summer, and there are still fringe players primed for the exit.

Now, the Yorkshire Evening Post report that Leeds are actively attempting to find a new club for striker Caleb Ekuban, as well as midfielder Eunan O’Kane, with Charlton keen on the latter.

Striker Ekuban was a gamble signing by director of football Victor Orta last summer, with the Italian striker coming off the back of an 18-goal season in Albania with Partizani Tirana.

Snapped up from Chievo Verona, Ekuban struggled last term, scoring just once as he made 20 appearances, with only 12 coming as a starter in a disappointing campaign.

The 24-year-old is a hard worker, but somewhat lacks the quality required to aid Leeds’ promotion hopes, and the Whites are hoping to sell Ekuban in the next 48 hours.

If not, Leeds could still attempt to loan Ekuban to another Football League club after the deadline passes, or look to a foreign buyer, but it seems clear that Leeds want to sell Ekuban before Thursday night – and are trying their best to make that happen.
