Leeds United have reportedly made contact with Manchester City over signing Tosin Adarabioyo this summer.
The Whites are in dire need of some defensive reinforcements throughout their Premier League return.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost 4-3 away at Liverpool last weekend in a game which saw Pascal Struijk and Robin Koch partner each other at the heart of Leeds’ defence.
Struijk had only started two league games for United prior to visiting Anfield, whereas it was Koch’s first game in English football since arriving in West Yorkshire earlier this summer.
Bielsa also has captain Liam Cooper, who missed out last week due to injury, but three recognised central defenders isn’t enough as Leeds aspire to survive and thrive on their return to the top flight.
They were linked with a move for the huge Manchester City defender – who stands at 6’5 – way back in March and Team Talk have now claimed that contact has been made between both clubs.
The report adds that Adarabioyo keeps rejecting the chance to sign a new deal at Eastlands and therefore City have ‘accepted defeat’.
Adarabioyo has enjoyed loan spells in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and West Bromwich Albion in recent years, but it remains to be seen if he’s deemed to be good enough for the big time.
If Bielsa and Victor Orta believe in him, however, then they’re some pretty big endorsements.
