Leeds United are reportedly ‘keen’ on the English striker.
Leeds United have asked about signing Juventus striker Stephy Mavididi, according to Team Talk.
The Whites could be interested in adding to their firepower up front this summer after Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford netted only 24 Championship goals between them last season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side came close to Premier League promotion but came up short in the playoff semi-finals.
Another striking option might be ideal for Leeds and, according to Team Talk, the Elland Road club are among those ‘keen’ on signing the English forward on loan for next term.
The 21-year-old talent joined the Italian side from Arsenal last August, but spent most of the season with their B team and only managed 21 minutes of senior action under Massimiliano Allegri.
Ironically, he came on for one-time Leeds target Moise Kean in a 2-1 defeat by SPAL in April for what was his solitary appearance.
Mavididi previously had a stint in the Championship with Preston during the 2017-18 campaign, though didn’t score from any of his 10 outings.
Could it happen?
The good news for Leeds is that there might be a willingness to bolster their striking options, which is positive given that only wingers seem to be linked so far.
The bad news is that Team Talk also name checks half-a-dozen other big English clubs – including Aston Villa and Newcastle United – in their report and beating them to his signature could prove difficult.
There should also be reservations about his goal return; not only because of his stint at Deepdale, but he scored just two League One goals in 14 appearances for Charlton later on in the same season.
