According to The Daily Mail, Leeds and Aston Villa are eyeing Norwich playmaker Emiliano Buendia, and have been tipped as potential destinations for the midfielder before Friday’s 5pm deadline.
The report adds that Leeds have a ‘long-standing’ history with the 23-year-old, as Marcelo Bielsa tried to sign him before he moved to Carrow Road in 2018.
It is also said that Daniel Farke’s side could demand a huge fee, seeing as their No.17 still has four years remaining on his contract.
The diminutive Argentine impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, scoring once while assisting seven goals.
Interestingly, the Premier League’s official website shows that Buendia created nine big chances in last season’s top-flight, whereas a very creative player in Jack Grealish mustered up eight.
That isn’t a stick to beat Grealish with, but more an indicator of how good the Norwich string-puller actually is.
The Mar del Plata-born playmaker would be an excellent signing for either Villa or Leeds.
Based on his debut Premier League campaign, he is far too good to sit in the Championship.
It is also mentioned in the report that Bielsa will be determined to avoid missing out on Buendia again, so this will definitely be one to keep an eye on over the next couple of days.
