Premier League trio Leeds United, West Ham and Newcastle are all weighing up summer bids for Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, according to Club Doria.
It has been a topsy turvy season for the late-blooming Gambian.
In the final few hours of the summer transfer window, Colley’s agent admitted a problem with his passport scuppered a deadline-day switch to Sheffield United or Fulham.
Three months later, the 28-year-old was signing a new, long-term contract – seemingly committing his future to Sampdoria.
Flash forward to late March, however, and a story with more twists than a brain-bending Christopher Nolan blockbuster has taken another unexpected turn.
Club Doria is reporting Sampdoria are willing to cash in on Colley after all – new contract or not. The 6ft 3in centre-back has been in fine form recently and the Serie A outfit aren’t going to miss an opportunity to strike while the iron’s hot.

Colley is apparently valued at £13 million – a fee that would be well received at a club that posted losses of £11 million in June following three consecutive years of profit-turning (OffThePitch).
Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds have all been linked with Colley for a number of months. And Club Doria reports the top-flight trio are still interested as the summer window looms on the horizon.
Interestingly, Colley turned down Newcastle in January (La Voce Tigullio). And, if Steve Bruce can’t save the Magpies from relegation, their hopes will be over for good.
