Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Frank Lampard’s Everton will have to pay £15 million for Southampton striker Che Adams in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Southampton are willing to listen to offers for the Scotland international striker.

The report has added that the Saints want at least £15 million in transfer fees for Adams, the amount they paid to Birmingham City to sign him in 2019.

Both Leeds and Everton have been linked with Adams.

The Daily Mail have reported that Everton, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers all want to sign the 26-year-old striker.

Should Leeds and Everton pay £15 million for Che Adams?

In our view, if Leeds United and Everton are genuinely keen on Che Adams and believe that he are going to help their team, then they should pay the £15 million that Southampton want for him.

Patrick Bamford is the number one striker at Leeds, but the West Yorkshire club could do with bringing in another player upfront to compete with the England international.

Everton sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had injury problems.

So, the Merseyside club need to bring in another striker.

Described as “terrific” by Rangers legend and former Scotland international striker Ally McCoist in The Southern Daily Echo in March 2022, Adams scored seven goals and gave three assists in the Premier League last season, and scored nine goals and provided five assists in the league in 2020-21.
