Leeds United have reportedly moved ahead of Newcastle United in the race to sign Facundo Colidio.

According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Leeds have now moved ahead of Newcastle in the battle to sign Inter Milan striker Facundo Colidio during the final days of the transfer window.
The Whites opened the new Championship season with a hugely impressive 3-1 win away at Bristol City, but there are still concerns about Marcelo Bielsa’s squad with The Sun reporting that Kemar Roofe is on the verge of completing a £7 million move to Anderlecht.
Roofe was not missed at Ashton Gate, but the fans will still be expecting at least one new striker to be signed before the window shuts. And one player who could boost the club’s attacking ranks is Colidio.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Leeds are working on a move for the 19-year-old having moved ahead of the Magpies in the race to sign the teenager.

Of course, signing Colidio this summer will not alleviate the fans’ concerns about Roofe’s seemingly-imminent departure. He looks to have an incredibly bright future ahead of him, but it would be asking a lot of the youngster to ask him to play one of the understudy roles supporting Patrick Bamford.
But if Leeds can sign Colidio and perhaps land a more established goalscorer to push Bamford before the window shuts, then the supporters will likely be a lot more content about the decision to sell Roofe, as well as being more willing to give Colidio time to develop his game.
