A report in The Irish Sun has outlined how much Leeds United will pay Torino as part of the deal that will see Pontus Jansson complete a permanent switch to Elland Road.

The Irish Sun reports that the summer signing will join the club permanently once he plays 20 games, and with the centre-back seemingly well on his way to reaching that number, that deal has moved a step closer after the two sides reached an agreement regarding the price.

The Irish Sun is reporting that the Sweden international will cost the Whites £3.6m, which would make him one of the most expensive signings the club has made since they were relegated from the Premier League more than a decade ago.

Based on the performances he has made so far however, most Leeds supporters would surely agree that his permanent arrival would represent an excellent piece of business and well worth the outlay.

Jansson is already working towards cult-hero status at Elland Road for his almost inspirational displays. His fighting spirit has arguably seen him in contention for the man of the match award from a Leeds perspective in almost every game that he has played.

His partnership with fellow loanee Kyle Bartley is already blossoming into something massively important to Garry Monk’s side, and getting one of the pair in on a permanent basis could boost the club’s hopes of putting themselves into play-off contention enormously, given the lift it will provide the entire squad.
