According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Leeds United are in the race to sign Lazio defender Luiz Felipe this summer.
It’s claimed that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain want the 23-year-old, but Leeds have ‘accelerated’ in recent hours.
Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has allegedly had content with Lorenzo Tonetti, the right-hand man of Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Leeds would allegedly pay around €30million (£27million), but Lazio want around £7million more in order to let him go.
Ben White replacement?
With Brighton unwilling to sell Ben White to Leeds after a successful loan spell at Elland Road, it’s now imperative that Leeds move on to other targets.
Freiburg’s Robin Koch is one name being linked, but Luiz Felipe does also fit the bill as a player who could step into White’s place.

Leeds will be looking for a right-footed centre back to partner Liam Cooper, preferably possessing quickness and ability on the ball, both in terms of carry it and playing forward passes.
Luiz Felipe ticks both boxes, and has more than 60 Serie A appearances to his name, meaning he is far from a rookie at the highest level.
The Brazilian still has potential to improve, especially under Marcelo Bielsa, and his composure on the ball makes him a natural fit at Elland Road.
