Kamil Jozwiak is out of contract at the end of this season and has an offer to sign for Leeds United.
There’s a growing Polish contingent at Leeds United. Mateusz Klich arrived from FC Twente in the summer, a few months before young goalkeeper Kamil Miazek signed up on a free.
And that’s without mentioning Pawel Cibicki, the Swedish-born forward with Polish parents.
And they could soon be joined at Elland Road by a 19-year-old winger by the name of Kamil Jozwiak. Polish publication Sport.pl reported on Wednesday afternoon that Leeds have been tracking the teenager for some time and hope to finally get him on board in the January transfer window.
The report adds that Jozwiak is out of contract soon and determined to leave his current club, Lech Poznan with talks over a new contract breaking down. Leeds have allegedly offered around £175,000 for Jozwiak, plus a percentage of any future sale.
Poznan president Karol Klimczak, however, insists that the Ekstraklasa side has no interest in parting with Jozwiak in January
“I can confirm that we got this offer (from Leeds), but I firmly believe that we are not interested in parting with Kamil in the winter,” he said in quotes reported by Sport.
Nonetheless, it seems that Poznan are powerless to prevent the versatile winger leaving eventually. And with Leeds tracking his progress over a prolonged period of time, the Championship side will hope to finally get their mits on the Polish under-19 international eventually.
Jozwiak, a winger who can play on either flank, has scored once in just three Ekstraklasa games for Lech Poznan this season and it is unsure whether or not he would go into Leeds’ Under-23 squad or instead fight immediately for a first-team place.
