According to Il Milanista, AC Milan are eyeing a move for Newcastle’s Achraf Lazaar as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a title charge.
Stefano Pioli’s men are currently leading Serie A by two points, and are seemingly keen to keep their momentum going with some signings.
The Italian giants have already signed Fikayo Tomori, Mario Mandzukic and Soualiho Meité, and are keen to add the Magpies outcast to their ranks.
It seems like a very strange link, seeing as Lazaar hasn’t played any first-team football this season.
The 29-year-old hasn’t even been included in a single Premier League squad by Steve Bruce this season, as Transfermarkt shows.

Despite that, Il Milanista strangely add that Newcastle don’t want to let the 18-cap Morocco international leave St James’ Park.
However, the Italian news outlet state that AC Milan could submit an offer soon, in an attempt to ‘complete’ Pioli’s squad who are hopeful of securing the title.
Why Newcastle would be against letting Lazaar leave is a mystery.

According to Transfermarkt, the £2 million man’s contract expires in June, so surely the Magpies would want to recoup some cash for him this month?
In our view, it would be completely baffling if Newcastle rejected AC Milan’s advances, only to lose the full-back for nothing this summer.
