According to fotoMac, Beşiktaş have reached an agreement with Everton over the signing of Cenk Tosun on loan until the end of the season.
The Turkish news outlet state that the Toffees will receive a sum of €625,000 (£553,212) from the Super Lig leaders.
That comes from Beşiktaş paying half of the 45-cap Turkey international’s wages, while there is no fee for the loan deal involved.
FotoMac say that there were other targets, but Beşiktaş were 99% focused on re-signing the man who is described as a ‘son’ by the club’s manager, Erdal Torunoğulları.
He is quoted by fotoMac as saying: ‘Cenk Tosun is the son of this house. He is the son of Beşiktaş’ community.’
It will be good for Everton to get Tosun’s wages off the books, as he has barely been used by Carlo Ancelotti this season.
The ex-Real Madrid boss hasn’t started the striker once in the Premier League this season.
The Turk has played just 44 minutes of top-flight action across five substitute appearances.
However, allowing Tosun to depart leaves Everton with a severe lack of depth at centre-forward.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is Ancelotti’s only recognised senior striker, while Richarlison can play there too, if needed.
Moise Kean has been loaned to Paris Saint-Germain, while academy prospect Ellis Simms cannot be called upon either – he has been loaned to Blackpool.
