A report in The Sun has suggested that Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie is a target for Serie A side Lazio, who want to sign him on loan with a view to making a permanent move next summer.
Clasie has spent the last two seasons with the Saints, making 38 Premier League appearances in that time, and scoring once in the top flight.

However, he is preparing for a campaign which will see him work under his third different manager during his time on the south coast, with Mauricio Pellegrino following Claude Puel and the man who brought him to St Mary’s, Ronald Koeman.
And it appears that Lazio plan to see if the 25-year-old features in Pellegrino’s plans, with The Sun suggesting that they plan to make a loan bid for the Netherlands international with a view to signing him permanently for £8 million next summer.
It may perhaps not be a surprise if the Saints sanction some kind of deal for Clasie given that he started just 12 times in the league last season, and may perhaps not be the new manager’s cup of tea.
However, Pellegrino may potentially come in and see the quality that tempted Koeman to bring him to Southampton in the first place, and may be determined to ensure that Clasie remains a part of his squad during the coming campaign.
