Everton will now have to switch their focus on to other targets.
Keita Balde in action for Lazio
Reports emanating from Italy this morning suggest that the Toffees target Keita Balde has rejected a move to Goodison Park, after the Merseysiders had a £26 million offer accepted by Lazio, according to Italian media outlet Il Messaggero.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder enjoyed an incredibly successful season for his club last term, scoring 16 goals and chipping in with three assists in 31 Serie A outings.

Roald Koeman is believed to be keen on strengthening his attacking options this summer, as he looks to guide his side to a top four finish in the Premier League next term.
It looks as though the Dutchman will now have to go back to the drawing board, however, after Il Messaggero’s report claiming that the Senegal international has rejected a switch to Everton, in favour of holding out for a dream move to Juventus.

The Blues are in a strong position financially, after Farhad Moshiri’s partial takeover in February, but attracting world-class stars to Goodison Park without Champions League football on offer will obviously be an obstacle that could prove challenging for them this summer.
With two-and-a-half months still remaining until the transfer window slams shut though, Everton fans will be hoping that Koeman has plenty more top-class targets lined up, as he looks to continue his revolution at Goodison Park.
