Lazio are reportedly looking at Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid-linked Eljif Elmas.
Italian club Lazio are hoping to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Fenerbahce midfielder Eljif Elmas, according to a report.
Italian outlet Calciomercato is claiming that Lazio are preparing their search to find a long-term replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they have targeted international wonderkid Elmas as a possible replacement.
It is said that the 19-year-old midfielder is one of the stars of the future but it will not be easy to prise away the youngster with a host of European clubs after him.
Turkish Football claimed in October that Spurs, Manchester City and Seville have joined the race to sign Elmas as interest in the Macedonia international hots up.
Elmas currently plys his trade in Turkey’s top-flight with Fenerbahce, where he is a regular starter under Ersun Yanal as his side struggle in the relegation zone.
During this campaign, Elmas has played 25 matches in all competitions, scoring one goal from the middle of the park as his team will be looking to avoid the drop this season.
Mauricio Pochettino has been known to bring through young talent since his move to north London, with attacking midfielder Dele Alli the standout example.
Alli moved to White Hart Lane in 2015 from League One side MK Dons and soon established himself as a first-team regular at not just club level, but on the international stage too.
