Everton target Stefan de Vrij is still contemplating his future.

According to The Mirror, Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij has delayed a decision on his future as he enters the final months of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
De Vrij, 25, came up through the ranks with Feyenoord in his native Netherlands, racking up more than 150 appearances for the Rotterdam club before his impressive displays at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil earned him a move to Lazio.
The centre back has largely impressed with the Serie A side, becoming one of the top defenders in Italian football, but did miss the majority of the 2015-16 campaign due to a major knee injury.

Now impressing once again for Lazio, De Vrij faces a huge decision this summer, given that his Lazio contract expires at the end of the season, and he doesn’t appear to be ready to make his decision just yet.
The Mirror report that De Vrij is delaying a decision on his future until the end of the season, meaning he may be set to walk away from Lazio on a free transfer rather than be sold on this month.
De Vrij could yet pen a new deal at the Stadio Olimpico, but his contemplation means that interested clubs are now left waiting to see what the Dutch international will do.

One such team who may be somewhat frustrated is Everton, given that the Liverpool Echo recently reported that the Toffees were interested in snapping him up.
Everton may now be left waiting for De Vrij’s decision, and whilst he would be a major coup on a free transfer, playing such a lengthy waiting game when Sam Allardyce may prefer to move for a more imminently-available target may not be ideal.
