Laurens De Bock’s proposed move away from Leeds United has fallen through, according to a report.
Laurens De Bock’s departure from Leeds United has reportedly collapsed.
Belgian outlet HLN claimed this week that the 26-year-old was set to join Greek outfit Aris Thessaloniki.
But if rumours are believed, the transfer has fallen through.
According to Sportime, the ‘sudden’ departure of sporting director Dinos Diamantopoulos means that De Bock’s move to Greece has been canned and the left-back will stay at Leeds for the time being it seems.
The report adds that regardless of what happens with Alex Menendez, the left-back De Bock was supposed to replace, the Whites defender won’t be joining them before the transfer window closes.
It’s a bit of a pain for Leeds but it would’ve been a lot more inconvenient had the English window still been open.
United might’ve needed the transfer windfall from De Bock to pursue their own targets, but they cannot sign anybody until January.
De Bock cost Leeds a hefty £1.5 million in January of 2018, but he has only played seven Championship games.
