It has been reported that West Ham had agreed a deal with London and Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign Tomori on loan.
However, according to the report, just 10 minutes before the summer window shut last night, the 22-year-old central defender decided that he did not want to move to the Hammers.
The report has added that the England international wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place in manager Frank Lampard’s team.
Blow for West Ham United
Tomori’s reported decision will have come as a blow for West Ham, as it seems that they want(ed) to sign a central defender.
While the Hammers were superb against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in their recent Premier League games, the London club could do with defensive reinforcements.
With the summer transfer window still open for Premier League teams to deal with EFL clubs, perhaps West Ham will now look to the Championship for a central defender.
